oklahoma frontier drugstore museum

Reminder of what a drug store used to be. It's amazing to see some of things that we used to use as "medicine". What will it be like in another 100 years? People will be laughing at the meds we take today I'm sure.They also have sarsaparilla for the trying. Soda fountain too.

This little drugstore had items from the 19th and early 20th century. There were bottles for thyroid, a "battle in a bottle" treatment, laudanum, and sposatory medicine. Also, there were old cans of herbs, teas, petroleum jelly,and many other oddities.

This is an old time drugstore with herbs and old remembrances as well as modern drugstore items. Fun to drop in and have a soda or ice cream.

You have to walk up about 3 steps to get in but once inside you ae glad you came in. The stuff you will fine here will amaze you. You can stand behind the soda foutian and look just like a soda jerk for a picture.

I had no idea that in the old days people could go to the corner drugstore and buy whatever they fancied such as heroin or cocaine! This museum is very interesting and educational. I learned a lot and had fun. Worth checking out!

We were in Guthrie for a festival and just wandered into the museum. It is laid out and furnished like an old drugstore with all sorts of interesting medicines and devices. It took us about 30 minutes to see, but you could spend more or less time depending on how thoroughly you want to examine things. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. There's no entrance fee, but there is a container for donations.

this is worth the trip if for nothing else, to see some of the medications that were popular at the time. It is amazing what people would take! There is even an old dentist office. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes see something out of the ordinary.
