What a fun and interesting little museum this turned out to be. The assistant curator was very helpful in answering questions and the exhibits nicely tell the story of Beatty's beginnings and more recent history. Admission is free. A fun and educational stop for kids and adults.

Great photos and information about the founding of the town and some of the characters who lived there. Also a chance to chat with the locals about the place.

Was fascinating to look around at all the exhibits and read about them. Also had a great collection of books about parts of the history of Nevada.

This is a quirky little museum which is worth a visit although the opening hours are limited. If you are in the Death Valley area it is worth popping in.

This museum seems to have anything that was ever used in the history of the town - tools, books, dolls, kitchenware, photos, you name it. Many have very helpful descriptions. There is a side room with stuffed wildlife, old service uniforms and more things than is possible to mention. It's free and also had many helpful maps and brochures of the area. Allow at least an hour.

Bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside. Sort of a collection of all kinds of things, not just related to mining, Death Valley, or Beatty. Run by volunteers, who are very friendly. Free, but dependent upon donations. Worth a stop, and a donation.

If you have interest in mining, and the history around Beatty and nearby Rhyolite, the Beatty Museum is a must stop. They have multiple rooms of displays, and a large book selection. The staff is friendly and well versed on the history of the area and Death Valley.

This museum is right across the street from the El Portal Motel. It houses quite a bit of items on the historical past of Beatty, Rhyolite and areas round about. I found the certificates for the mining companies quite interesting. Also, they have an extensive book rack. If your in for some reading during the evening - Pick up a book or two on the histories of the area. Nice museum.

This is a must see in Beatty. It documents life in a gold mine town from the Gold Rush to now and contains the greatest range of artifacts I've ever seen in a small museum. It's run by volunteers, so don't forget to be generous with your donation!

Spend an hour here to absorb a good regional history on Rhyolite and Beatty...an impressive museum for a tiny community.

We were sent here by the people at the gas station for a map of Death Valley. We were so pleasantly surprised by this family type museum, in that the woman operating it had her lovely little 3 month old daughter right there with her. It was a pleasure to talk to her, and find out about the area.

Knowledgeable docent and interesting displays. Learned about Rhyolite and Bullfrog, early mining towns.

Small museum, chock full of history. Could spend 2 hours. Lady overseeing the place is too chummy. You can hear her talking to others while you are view and reading, and then she "latches on to you" to slow your progress. It would have been okay, but we did not expect them to be open on the day we visited (per internet) and had already spent way more time at Rhyolite than we expected to.

Lots of interesting artifacts and very helpful volunteers.

One would not know it from the look of Beatty today, but at one time it was a thriving and busy town. Inside this little museum is an eclectic collection of memorabilia of Beatty's past. The museum staff is eager to answer questions and talk about Beatty's history. Admission is free.Well worth a detour on the way to Death Valley.
