the coug

The Coug is a large bronze statue located just outside Martin Stadium and along Stadium Way. As a WSU icon, its great for a group photo. Its also a well known landmark to arrange a meeting or located someone.

I set aside a day to check out The Coug. When I first got there it was awesome! The Coug looks very realistic, like you could almost trick yourself into thinking you were getting stalked by a big cat. As the day wore on, not much happened, and this thrilling feeling of being stalked gradually went away. I began to get pretty hungry, and there is no food at The Coug so that kind of sucked. If you happen to come here, make sure you bring something to eat and drink, there is nothing of this sort served at The Coug. One kind of cool thing was watching the sun hit The Coug at different angles throughout the day. At one point when the sun was low, the reflection shot right into my eye, so I would recommend wearing shades if you go on a sunny day. The Coug is perched up pretty high, so I was only able to reach up and touch its paw, if you are more of a "touchy" person you might be a little disappointed. I feel like The Coug deserves at least 2 stars because it was really safe, and it was an inexpensive way to spend the day. Overall, I would recommend spending less time there than I did, it is not an attraction that should take up your whole day. Family and friends have told me I'm an idiot for spending the whole day with The Coug, and they might be right.
