This small museum was a wonderful place to spend several family fun hours! There were many educational toys and books for the little ones and some fabulous information even for us, like knowing that there are many sea creatures which produce light! There were also some live animals like guinea pig, turtles and fish, which we really liked them. Oh, there were some table and chairs (even an infant feeding chair and microwave!) for those who want to bring some snacks and even bagged food, so you can stay there longer without getting hungry! Just one downside: the parking lot was small and had only a few spot. If you live in pullman, you may consider becoming a member to get back for more fun!
Although this center is smaller than many, it is enough to keep any kid busy. There are many stations set up around the largest room. My grandson could have stayed there an hour longer than we did. I also observed many children from toddlers to about six enjoying the little learner area, none of whom got at all bored. People can also sign their kids up for classes there during the summer. If you take a sack lunch, they have an area where you can eat it so your child can get back at discovering more. Next time we go, there will be another large room and several areas left to explore. One can't let a summer day get boring with this place available.
There aren't a whole lot of science center's on this side of the mountains and so this little one serves quite a large area. It does the job pretty well too. There are two large rooms with the interactive science center type stations, a small gift shop, a planetarium, a little learners lab (for the really young crowd), a live animal center, and a room in the back where field trip groups go through little courses designed for their age groups. The courses are very engaging and definitely get the science across in a way that kids can understand.
As a teacher, I adore this place. It is small, like the town, but offers lots of fun, interactive education activities. Great for a rainy or cold day activity.
