This ride was fun. The guide was excellent and they have Norwegian Fiord Horses too. This was possibly the best, most stable horse I've ever ridden. The Coon lake ride is steep and not for beginners.

A must do for any visitor in the valley. Sure footed, calm and laid back, these Norwegian Fjord horses are just plain fun. They are not know for a smooth gait, in fact DO NOT get them into a trot. That is bone jarring. They also have a very wide barrel so keep your toes pointed way way out.

This was one of the most beautiful horseback rides I've ever been on. There were hilly areas, lots of trees, a rock slide area, and then in the middle we stopped at Coon Lake for a beautiful view. I highly recommend this activity if you find yourself in Stehekin.
