We enjoyed the young couple very much; however displays were limited and duplicative of those found in larger venues. We felt our limited time was better spent at the nearby airfield, used to train Tuskegee Airmen.

we are so glad that we visited this relic museum before hitting the road. stopped in walterboro on trip from fl to md and decided to drop by this museum before leaving in the morning. the hosts are very kind and willing to give an informative personal tour. the price is very fair for the collection. Danny took us around for the most part, but his wife?( didn't catch her name) started our tour and was also very nice and informative. you even are allowed to touch some of the relics which lead to a very memorable experience. we wish them the best of support from other visitors and would recommend stopping here if you have 30 min to spare before hopping on the road.

This was the best part of the trip. I enjoyed reading about the history and learning about it. It's a great idea for future field trips.

I enjoyed this museum, it is an important place to visit and story to tell, however since I visited it has been difficult to find the the place open on a set schedule - this may have improved - but just be sure before you go. Location is in the heart of Walterboro, exhibits are enhanced by the tour/curator. Plan to do this along with a visit downtown or to other memorial sites in town.

This is a very historical place in Walterboro run by two very dedicated individuals who wish to tell the story to the world. Sadly I feel they are not getting the support they deserve ,I am glad we went , for they have truly taken the time and energy to make a difference in this very quaint and up and coming Colleton County. The next time you are along the I 95, stop take the time to visit, it will be worth your while and if you can , spread the word. As rich as the history is in this area, it is not being spoken of as it should be.The fact that they have the information which they are willing to share should be utilized to the greater good and for a few moments in time, this first african American history museum of its kind in the area is celebrating the culture of people of African descent.
