Too much money to be ferried over crammed in like sardines. Then pay out the nose for a golfcart, all food and drinks are very pricey. It's just another island. Most places weren't wheelchair friendly.

Three of us took the ferry from Southport, NC, to Bald Head Island where we rented a golf cart (which was reserved), got a sandwich at Delphina's it was delicious, next we toured the island, stopped at the Conservancy, went to the beach, walked on the beach and enjoyed being in the water. We took the ferry back to Southport and it was a wonderful day.

Bald Head Island is beautiful but don't expect to find a wealth of information unless you have the wealth to spend.
