The food has never once disappointed me, from a light snack, to a full course meal! Service is first rate, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is first rate and always go out of their way to provide first class service!
Relaxing time with friends. Nice alternative to being in the house. Nice food and bar menu. Nice time
Steve and Grace were great. I had salmon sandwich. It was my best dinner, fabulous. Blacked red snapper with lobster grits and asparagus was also great. Lettuce wrap was really good as well. Great service and food.
A fun ocean course that is not too challenging. Lunch at the club is always pretty good, though the service is pretty hit or miss. I recommend it if you are looking to eat somewhere outside of your house.
The Club is a beautiful place to go for that nice evening out while on vacation. You will need reservations and must be a member or temporary member to eat here. Their is the Grille dining room or if you want a more casual feel their is the Palms bar area. The bar allows you to choose from two menu's which we actually prefer. The bar tender Steve is great and always willing to please. Filet Mignon is excellent and the Jamaican Jerk Grouper was another favorite. If your bringing children we would suggest the Grille.
If you can pick between the Shoals Club and BHI Club pool, go with the shoals club. BHI club has dated facilities, unhappy employees, and just isn't fun. The food is good though.
We had a lovel dinner, way better than average food and good drinks. Prices very reasonable. Of course you have to be a member but most people on the island are.
This place is very fun. My father loves to golf so we played. It was very fun. I personally love to go here mostly because I am a kid and I love places with big attractions! When you visit the island you should go to the bald head island club!
We had dinner here. One has to pay a fee for eating here. The entire evening pretty pricy (almost $30 for two cocktails) but the food was great. The beef carpaccio is the best I have ever had, hands down. Our waitress, Ashlyn was sweet and very nice. Wine list is excellent however again, up there in price. We paid $70 for Stags Leap Petite Shiraz. The mushroom ravioli was a little too garlicky to taste the mushrooms and my husbands NY strip was over cooked a bit. He said the chowder was awesome and wanted more. All in all a nice dinner and evening. We would go again.
If you can get your group on I would highly recommend this golf course! Fast greens, beautiful layout, deer, alligators, bring your A game. Boat trip over was great, they check your clubs, pick you up at the dock and take you to the course. Finish early and have a few pops poolside.
Good steaks and seafood and the staff is consistently excellent. Had the caesar salad and a steak and both were very good. Wine list is great and the view out onto the driving range is very pleasant.
For those who are guests or temporary members, there are several eating choices at the BHI Club. Members and non- members can eat anytime at the Peli Delicatessen, where a nice selection of hamburgers, sandwiches, pizza and salads are available. The Peli has dinner specials Sunday-Wednesday night. The Sunday brunch is a special value. The brunch begins about 10 AM with breakfast buffer only, but after 11 AM, breakfast and lunch items are available simultaneously. The Fitness Center is magnificent with state of the art machines and weights. My wife tells me the tennis courts are nice, but has found it difficult to find pick-up games. The tennis pro is there only in the summer and not in the off season, and the tennis shop has limited hours off season with no way for players on the island to link up. Not a golf player so can't comment on the course.
At the end of the season the pool and tennis courts were nearly deserted. A couple of visits to the pool with the slide for the kids was a pleasant diversion - no life guard though - and the hard-courts were in good condition. The temporary membership was a worthwhile additional charge to the rental house.
We purchased a temporary membership to the Bald Head Island Club and took advantage of the pool, the croquet, and the 2 restaurants. My wife and kids used the tennis and took lessons. Our trip happened at the end of the season so we did not experience the crowds like I suspect the pool gets in high season. You do need to watch out for your own kids because there's no lifeguard on duty. The pool is pretty bland. The slide needs to be improved or removed.Club staff were wonderful with the croquet. We had a great time there. The formal restaurant has a great view of the driving range. Our meal was excellent as was the service. Suggestion for management: You include tip, which is fine (though it would be nice to inform diners on the menu that you do this). However we felt the service was better than 18% and had no way of adding tip. It would be nice to offer that for stellar service. The lounge restaurant had the same menu, but was much more casual. My boys loved watching the TV's while eating. My wife said the tennis instruction was very good and our boys had a great time with the instructors. They kept our kids fully engaged for the whole lesson- not easy to do!
We recently purchased a temporary membership to the Bald Head Island Club, in order to have the use of a pool. I do not recommend doing this and we will not do it again. The pool was much too crowded. A number of very loud children throwing balls monopolized the pool every day of the week. I never actually saw a lifeguard in the lifeguard stand and the club makes no effort to implement or enforce any rules so all can enjoy the pool.
