Cute little, old-time General store with fun little country-type gifts. Okay selection of groceries for emergency situations. Nothing fancy, but cute place worth checking out! Didn't have lunch or drinks there, but should try!
This quaint store has many types of "penny" candy that it's hard to choose what to buy. The coffee is fantastic, as are the selections for lunch. Sit a bit, shop, and chat. The service is great. A short walk from the Leavenworth Inn.
I love this place, and how lucky am I that it's a mile down the road! I go there for great coffee, fresh to drink there and ground to take home. I also love shopping for sweet goodies for my grandson (marbles, Jacob's ladders, unusual candies and all kinds of things). A fun, cozy, friendly place for lunch or breakfast and the best people on earth to be-friend. Authenticity at it's top. Oh! And you get free icecream on your birthday! How does it get any better than this?
This is a must see for anybody! Awesome "old time" general store, just like when we were kids! The employees made the store even more special.
This store is the best little country store that I've seen. It has a great deal of charm and lots of little things to make you smile but still has at least one of everything you could need. It has the old fashioned candy store area, a deli, novelties, old fashioned wooden toys, pottery, groceries, Amish made goods, and hardware galore. Every small town needs a Stephenson's General Store. Aside from the goods that they carry, they have a nice area of the store dedicated to the history of their town. I applaud the families that have worked so hard to re-open this store and have made it into what I'm sure is a very important business to the town of Leavenworth.
Unlike a lot of touristy general stores which you will see in theme parks, (which only sell candy and souvineers), this is an authentic 100+ year old store which actually sells goods to the local residents. Yes, there are some touristy items and antiques here too, but this is one of the most authentic old time places to visit. To the back of the store there is a soup bar and ice cream counter. The prices are reasonable and the ice cream is good (I assume the soup is good also, but I only ordered the ice cream). Also near the back of the store is a small display with artifacts and photos of the old town of Leavenworth in the early part of last century before and after the disasterous flood that occured in Leavenworth in 1937.
