The Neet Covered Bridge is one of the newer ones, if you can call 1904 newer, but in great condition. It was repainted in 1989 by the Rockville Boy Scout Troop 469. The Little Racoon River runs under it and it is one of the smaller bridges at 126 feet long. This is only one of the 31 covered bridges in Parke County, which is considered the "Covered Bridge Capitol of the World.
One of the many covered bridges in Parke County Indiana. These bridges must have been very well built to last as long as they have!
History relived. It shows what was built many years ago with nothing but only hand held tools.
My husband and I like to drive around and see the covered bridges and this one is in a beautiful scenic area.
I love to take photos of covered bridges and later paint them
I am always impressed how these bridges were built in the 1800's and early 1900's without the fancy tools we had today and how they withstood so much usage.
