The Fulton Theatre in downtown Lancaster, PA is both an historic gem and also a vibrant and lively much-loved meeting place. Home to the Lancaster Symphony, an excellent local theatre group and lots of visiting productions, we've enjoyed many concerts and plays and have been overwhelmed by the high production values and professionalism of the performances at extremely reasonable prices. The theatre is friendly to both music and the spoken word and there isn't really a bad seat in the house. We've often arrived early for a pre-show drink in the lovely lobby bar and then availed ourselves of the 'order ahead' service to find our pre-paid drinks waiting for us at intermission. I have only good things to say about The Fulton.

This beautifully renovated theatre offers musical experiences in the form of orchestra and live theatre productions that are unrivaled. it is fully accessible despite it's age. I have never been disappointed in the quality of the work, the talent of the performers, or the hard working staff that bring it all together. A great experience for a very reasonable price without the aggravation of travelling to known pockets of entertainment such as NYC. I go as often as I can.

I go to all the shows offered at the Fulton Theatre.They rival most any show you would seein New York. The acting, music, and special effects are top quality. The historic theatre issuch a gem to have right here in downtown Lancaster.

This is one of the oldest theaters in America and was refurbished beautifully several years ago. The walls are adorned with posters of the most famous actors/actresses from the early 1900's that appeared on it's stage. There is not a bad seat in the house ! The quality of the talent is amazing and the price to see these shows is quite reasonable. We have been there many times and always love it. My only knock is that too frequently they have shows that are "outdated" and cater to a super senior audience. Despite this, it is wonderful to get dressed up, go to diner and see a high caliper show in a beautiful theater and not have to take a 2nd mortgage out to do so.

We've been subscribers here for two seasons now. The quality of the productions are the best you will find in Lancaster county. The theatre itself is a beautiful building and the people who run it really care about the success of the place.

Took in a live holiday performance of White Christmas. Everything was superb. Acting, dancing, orchestra, sound, lighting, special effects. A quality production in an intimate, historic theater.

Just a five minute walk from Penn Square and the Farmer's Market, this historic "opera house" is a gem. The management takes care of this historic site while bringing New York and Touring caliber talent for the stage productions. The house is small, but the feeling is big with several seating options and an intimate atmosphere. Tickets are not cheap, but they are a fraction of what you would pay in NYC or Philly. Musicals have live orchestras and great singers/dancers. One complaint-> not enough restrooms for the intermission rush. There is a new service where you can pre-order refreshments for intermission. This is not "community theatre". Most productions feature professional performers who have impressive lists of productions under their belts. Buy your tickets in advance. It is a small theater and shows will sell out.

By Dana DeRoseI am not ashamed to admit this: I have a love affair with old movies. Any type will do, but I especially love classic musical theater. (Nope, not ashamed to admit that either!) While most little girls in the 90′s fantasized about meeting New Kids on the Block, I dreamed of one day meeting Gene Kelly or Danny Kaye. There’s just something about classic musicals that is uplifting and magical to me. One of my all-time favorites, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, is currently on stage on The Fulton Theatre. So I reserved two tickets and told my husband it would be our first official Christmas activity for the 2014 holiday season.Since moving to Lancaster, I’ve always been in awe of the grandeur and beauty of the historic Fulton Theatre. I was beyond excited to finally experience one of their productions. We picked up our tickets at will call and made our way up to the mezzanine to our seats. The theater, which is decorated in reds and golds, is both very beautiful as well as comfortable – a perfect mix of Victorian elegance and modern convenience. Before the show began, we walked around to different parts of the theater to get a feel for different audience perspectives. We did not find one seat in the the whole theater without a full view of the stage.The lights finally dimmed and the orchestra started playing the intro. The stage adaptation of the original 1954 movie tells the story of a famous entertainment duo (Bob Wallace and Phil Davis) and a lesser know sister act (the Haynes sisters) that, through a series of comical twists and turns, come together to save a declining Vermont inn – which just happens to be owned by the famous duo’s former commanding Army general.The entire show was wonderful, funny, and engaging. The dancing was incredible! My favorite part of the production was the actor playing Phil Davis (originally played by Danny Kaye in the movie version.) Everything about him reminded me of Mr. Kaye.The staff at the theatre is extremely customer-focused. They even started offering the service of pre-ordering concessions, so that you’re not waiting in a line during intermission. This definitely contributes to an even better guest experience.In addition to high-quality, Broadway-caliber productions and great customer service, the Fulton Theatre embraces and invests in the surrounding community. They offer theatre academy and training programs, partnerships with schools, pay-what-you-want performances, and more.

3rd time here and never ever disappoints. Easy to get to and always a great show. If you have the opportunity to go you will be glad you did.

First, the theatre itself is beautiful. Lots of character in this building and everything seemed to be well maintained. The seats were a little snug, but that is very common in older theatres. My tickets were waiting for me at the box office and the staff was all very friendly. I did not partake, but the theatre has a bar and you can preorder drinks for intermission which is nice it that's your thing.The performance was very good, but a little disappointing in spots. First, the gentleman that played Bob Wallace was good, but I wished he had more of a Bing Crosby voice instead of an opera voice. Second, the play was fairly different than the movie. This has nothing to do with the Fulton Theatre, as I would assume they follow the libretto(script) of David Ives and Paul Blake who wrote the musical. My biggest hang up was the relationship between Bob and Phil was never established.All in all, I will most likely be back to the Fulton for another show.

A great version for kids. Although ballet was incorporated, the characters all talked. Humor was injected throughout the show. My five year old son really enjoyed the show.

I don't say this lightly, but the performance of white Christmas was Broadway caliber. I could find no fault with the performance I saw. The orchestra was full and solid, the sets and staging were awesome, and the talent ws superb. This is not a community theatre. This is guild talent. The theatre is historic and the parking and access was convenient. I have lived in the area for 50 years and had no idea that a venue of this caliber was in town.

We went for the first time to see their holiday performance, White Christmas. Beautiful theater. Had good seats to see the performance; however, I will say that the seats are close together (and I'm a smaller-framed person). The performances, singing, and stage settings were professionally done. Would go back again.

We went to see Irving Berlin's White Christmas. We were blown away with the beautiful old theatre. As with all things Lancaster county, the history jumps out at you. The show was outstanding and the theatre was a fantastic venue to see it in. All seats are excellent, with just a few on the outer edge having a very slightly blocked view of the stage. Prices were excellent for this quality of show.

Daughter and I are big fans of the movie. She even watches it in the summer. We know most of the lines by heart. The play was changed so much the continuity wasn't there. They didn't sing White Christmas in the first war scene. Phil didn't get saved by Bob after bombs hit so the whole reason Bob would always give into Phil was lost.They didn't sing half the songs from the movie. They did add other songs and dance numbers but they didn't really seem to have anything to do with the story. Not many Christmas songs. We were so excited to see this play but left being disappointed.
