pinecrest country club - golf course

I held a party for 100 people at the PineCrest. The facility is great. Only 1 event at a time is held. There is a cocktail area, outdoor patio and main room that can serve as the perfect setting for a wedding or other event. The patio overlooks the golf course and a fountain. The facility mainly caters to weddings. Couple of problems-30 minutes before our event began a wedding rehearsal was scheduled. The staff was good but in the planning stages we were told that the staff would take care of everything on the morning of the event. Luckily, I was there to ensure that everything was addressed. Tasks were only handled when I mentioned them. I'm not sure if this was the case due to a miscommunication regarding the minimums or not. Make sure that any minimums are clarified up front. Overall, everyone enjoyed the event. I would definitely consider having another event there.

This is a golf course that is also a venue for weddings and similar affairs, and has a small pub-style eatery that mostly services golfers. The golf course is the primary business of PineCrest Country Club - and of this review. I was driving by the course when my clubs started whining in the trunk - and wanted to be let out. it didn't look that busy, so I stopped by the proshop to ask if I could get out without a tee time. "No problem" said the proshop guy, 'just see the starter'. When I got to the first tee, the starter was talking to a man and woman, tho' their cart held just one bag. Starter sent them to the first tee, and I moved up expecting to join them. However, the starter decided to send the guy off on his own, because he didn't want to play with anyone else - just his lady friend. I asked to tee off before them so I could get on with my round, but the starter said he'd already promised the guy he could tee off. Guy promptly blasted 3 straight tee shots into the woods. Starter says he'll put me with a twosome scheduled to show up 'in a few minutes'. After a few minutes, three guys show up ready to play, yukked it up with the starter for a bit, then headed for the first tee. I headed for the starter to find out what was going on - and he explained that they were Asian, were really good players, and played for big money. They didn't want to play with anyone else. Fine, I said, just let me tee off first. Starter said 'no' - I had to wait for that hypothetical twosome. The three Asian guys each hit their drives out of bounds... After another 15 minutes, the starter says that the twosome cancelled, so he was going up to the proshop to see if anyone was waiting to play. I teed off as soon as he left. Caught up to the threesome on the first green- and had to wait for them to clear before every shot I hit during the entire 18 holes. They were not very good players at all - just average hackers thinking they could play from the blues. For 5.5 hours they consistently showed that they could not. No rangers in evidence the entire round. No snack/beverage cart either - on a very hot day.I had a great golf lesson, though. Don't play golf at Pinecrest......
