Excellent option for a bit of dessert. Outside or inside dining.Loved everything about it except it's a bit off the beaten path
The custard itself is delicious. Nothing extraordinary or creativity flavored, fairly priced & good service. Cute building, but no view (there is nothing noteworthy to see in Eureka). Not the best location because when eating there, sometimes a sewer smell can waft through.
Eureka doesn't have a lot of choices for ice cream. Culvers sells it, but if you want to go to an 'ice cream place', Spooners is pretty much the only option! That being said, it's pretty good! The prices is reasonable, ice cream is about 3-4 dollars for a sundae or a mixer. The custard itself is good! There is a decently sized outside seating area and a small covered seating area, but no seating that's completely indoors. If I'm really wanting to go all out I'll still go to Ted Drewes, but if you're craving ice cream in Eureka, Spooners is a great place to go. in the summertime.
I'm still dreaming and longing for more of this awesome custard! Other custard chains just don't come close. Spooner's is the best and they are all natural too!
Great custard and I have heard of friends comparing it to Tedd Drewes or stating that it was better then that. I would disagree but I currently live 2 blocks from Tedd Drewes and am quite faithful to St. Louis staples though I lived near Spooners for a few years.Very fun summer hangout for custard and hanging out with friends!
I took my family to Spooners today. Three small sundaes - and I mean small ( maybe one scoop on custard) was $11.82. If the product was great or the place something remotely special the price might have been acceptable - Neither was the case! There are wonderful ice cream places in the area and the premier frozen custard in the midwest is at Ted Drews (where you get the best for less and more of it) - in ST. Louis - 15 miles from Spooners.I was disappointed and outraged as were others we spoke to. Don't go!
