The brewery is amazing! They have a great taproom and dry good store. Be sure if you are interested in a tour take the unfiltered tour, it's worth the money! You get a chance to sample some of their amazing Smokestack series beers.

Visited the brewery for a Bachelorette party and we had a great time. I am not a beer drinker, but found the tour and the $20 I paid well worth it. I was able to taste several different beers and take a detailed tour, which was very interesting. The staff were fun, friendly, and knowledgeable about Boulevard. The staff did heckle a friend who didn't drink a little bit, but it wasn't over the top, so if you don't drink, I think it's still worth it. If you love beer, this is the place for you. For $20 you were able to taste about five-six different beers throughout the tour and then they gave you a full beer at the end of the tour for free. Great value. PS-purchase tickets ahead of time. This place is popular.

My husband and I went down on a Sunday morning for the free public tour. Our guides were great. They were funny and very knowledgeable. The tour gave you a brief history of the brewery, a brief description of the brewing process, and the bottling process. At the end you get to sample two different types of beer. The tickets for the tours get passed out starting at 10 a.m. Be in line at 9:50 if you want a guaranteed spot.

Be sure to get to the brewery early if you want to get tour tickets for the day. We went a bit too late so instead just looked around the gift shop and then tried some beer in their tasting room. The tasting room is a great opportunity to try a variety of their beers at a reasonable price.

Tried to get a tour. Failed. Gave out all 200 tickets within 14 minutes of opening. People were standing in line in freezing drizzle before the place even opened. But they gave us 4 free beers to make up for our disappointment. That's what we came for anyway, isn't it?

I came here with my boyfriend - the tour group was small and the guides were really laid back. Boulevard is a smaller brewery, but their beers are so tasty. It was well worth the time to visit!

We took the free tour on a whim (they do offer other, more in depth tours for $20 pp, just not on the day we were there) and was plesently surprised. Tours are first come, first serve, so if you are in town during tourist heavy season, plan ahead. As for the tour, they cover quite a bit in 40 minutes, good information, guides are extremely knowledgeable, they encourage questions and interaction. Thought it was cool to see the actual bottling process, from above and behind a window. Was totally reminiscent of the opening of Laverne and Shirley (older folks reading this will understand the reference ). Recommend for older kids and up, including the adults of course. There was a baby and toddler on our tour. The baby fell asleep, however the toddler was not so appreciative of the information and made it known to everyone. Don't forget your ID, so you can benefit from the free drink at the end. They also offer flights of beer for $5.

Book in advance and take the private tour. You get the behind the scene and a ton of beer to drink. Who would of known about beer and food parings. About 90 minutes long. Booking in advance is a must.

great craft brewery, staff very knowledgeable and friendly. The awesome beer didn't hurt the cause! Would come back and do another tour soon...

So we were in KC for a Chiefs game and had some time to fill and had read about this place online. We got there Friday around noon and went over to the brewery hoping to catch an afternoon tour. They were all booked up and we didn't get to take the tour. But when in Rome....So we decided to go over to the bar and get the sampler of four beers for five bucks. We sat outside and had a some beer. After a while we forgot all about not being able to take the tour.

Be sure to take theTour that you have to pay for. It is much more detailed than the free tour and does not cost much. I have tours of Heineken in Amsterdam and Guinness in Dublin. The Boulevard tour is much more detailed and informational. The tasting at the end is great. They also offer samples of foods from a local bakery/eatery they pair with the beers.

The free, short tour lasts maybe 40 minutes. Not a great activity for kids as you might imagine! The demand on a popular day is high and the tickets are first come first served - so be prepared for disappointment if you drop in and expect to have an opening in the next time slot! Overall though, it's Boulevard and a small tasting - nothing wrong with that for the price. Without children, might try a pay tour next time instead.

Finally! Have tried several times to get down to Boulevard in order to get tickets and this time - it worked. Do realize - you have to be there when they open because tickets are given on a first come/first serve basis. It's a Friday, we arrive by 10:45am and to get 4 tickets had to go for the 12:30 tour. Maybe it's because the Royals were playing in the playoffs and it was a home game. Friendly staff, very informative and delicious beer. The beer flights are certainly worth the $5 purchase price - you get 2 free with the tour. They didn't charge a fee for the "test" beer which was the sour pumpkin ale - hope to see that in their line up this fall - it was good. I do a fair about of event planning and they have an incredible venue if you are looking for space for receptions or parties. Founder of Boulevard was a craftsman in wood working and the floor in the event space is SICK - like the coolest floor ever. Hubby is into wood working and creating great things for our home so this was very interesting for him as well. The tables with the 'bow tie' inserts in the wood and the whole urban industrial vibe of the space made me want to move in! Okay - back to the beer. It's so good. And it's nice to have the opportunity with their beer flights to try things I wasn't sure I wanted to commit to buying locally. If you're in the area - try to work this into your plans!

My wife, son and I took the Boulevard Smokestack tour on October 21 and it was outstanding. For $20 per person, you get an in-depth walking tour of the brewery facilities, covering all aspects of the creation of the excellent Boulevard beers that helped bring back craft brewing. Our tour guide tandem of Adam and Dane were also outstanding, combining humor, in-depth knowledge of the brewing process and historical perspectives on the company and beer in general. To start the tour, we were given a glass of Tank 7, and the tour ended with a beer tasting featuring four additional Smokestack beers, plus any others that we wanted to try. After getting tanked, so to speak, we were turned loose in the well-appointed gift shop, where all things Boulevard are available, and all which look even more appealing after the tasting. This is an excellent attraction to see if visiting Kansas City, and one that locals can partake of multiple times, to see what the brewery is bringing out next!

It has become a small tradition for my boyfriend and myself to check out local breweries when we travel. The Boulevard tour didn't disappoint. The tour leaders were amusing and energetic and seemed to know their stuff. The tour was quite comprehensive, although as it was a Sunday, many of the production lines were shut down. But it was easy to envision what would be happening. The public tour is free, and according to the website, they often fill up quick. We actually got tickets earlier in the day to ensure we had a spot. It was quite full, so I am glad we did that. At the end of the tour, you get 2 sample tastings. The options were pretty varied! Go get you some free dranks!
