OMG! If you want to laugh, you have to see this show. Leave the kids at home and check it out. Nothing like a little red-necked humor to get you laughing! Another wonderful show at the best little theater in the area! Don't wait too long, it's only playing here until October 5!
This little theater is a gem.....in an old firehouse. I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years and love all the shows.
We subscribed this year with our friends and love it. Each performance is unique and entertaining. This is local theater at its best. Only a couple of shows left for the season, so it is not too late to check them out.
Love history? Love music? Love beauty? We had a super wk/nd in beautiful Norwich CT(The Rose City). A new musical opened at the wonderful intimate Spirit of Broadway Theater in downtown Norwich. It's called "Benedict Arnold", and is an amazing pop/rock musical that brings history to life - what a show! It's there through Aug.3rd.Then wander down to Norwich Free Academy and view the informative and provocative Benedict Arnold Exhibit at the Slater Museum - a must see..For scenic beauty, take a slow walk through the lovely lakeside Mohegan Park and see the "Rose Garden" there. OH, and don't miss the awesome "Indian Leap Falls" along the river!! Lots to do and see in Norwich.:)
Wonderful, small, intimate, professional theater. We have had season tickets for 3 years, seen every production, and never had a bad experience. If you find yourself within 50 miles of Norwich the Spirit of Broadway Theater should be on your list of places to spend an evening.
This nationally known theater focuses on producing brand-new musical works. Some are good, some maybe not so much, but always entertaining and well done.
Great musicals always and with a lot of variety. Not your standard Broadway shows. Small intimate theater with 70 seats. Great entertainment value.
We went to SoB again last Friday. We always have a blast there, but the show that's currently running is hilarious! Go see it now! We were wiping away the tears. Thanks for a fun Friday night out!
Small innovative theater staging full professional productions of new musicals! The theater is in its 17th year, and has a connection with New York that brings quality actors and production staff to this small New England town. The fully staged productions are held in a three quarter black box theater seating around 70, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Refreshments are available, and the delicious desserts can be enjoyed in the theater during the show.
All the plays here are musicals and most of them are being staged for the first time. The building is as unique as are the plays. A former 3 bay firehouse with one the slide polesstill in place. The theater is small, 74 seats, but provides the audience the feeling of actuallybeing part of the set. The plays are always super and with the guidance of Founding ArtisticDireector, Brett Bernardini, the attendees always see a great production..Everyone should make it a point of getting to see many on the productions here at prices aboutone quarter of those in NY.
This is a small theater in downtown Norwich that produces full, new musicals throughout the year. The quality of the shows, and the caliber of the actors make this first class. The theater is small, 74 seats, making all the seats good ones. The Director, Brett Bernardini, throws himself into every project, and his enthusiasm is contagious. The audience makes a difference also. Recently they produced a show about Benedict Arnold, There was much controversy about this production, but Brett Bernardini believed it could be an asset to the City of Norwich and persevered. After the initial production, the audience was asked for feed back. This show was just a stage reading, since the controversy had delayed their ability to be completely ready. The writers will get the feed back and rework the production. The finalized show will be performed in the summer. These shows are written by first quality writers, who knows, you might see it here first, and later Broadway, NYC!!
You will not see a bad show at The Spirit of Broadway..Every one I know loves it there, one good play after another. Have been to many shows can not pin point a particular month.
This is my third year of going to this theater and I love it. I purchased (again) Season Tickets because it's such a great value. It's a small theater and there isn't a bad seat in the house. I enjoy going to Asian Thai on Main St.for dinner before the play then it's just a cou[le of minutes to Spirit of Broadway. Save room for desert during intermission, they are home made..DELISH!
Small and intimate, Spirit of Broadway always delivers great shows. The talent always amazes and the show choices are unique. Highly recommend going to see a show there. It's a good choice for date night or an evening with friends.
For such a small theatre, it produces top notch performances. We were delighted with the latest performance of Nellie Bly or Front Page Girl. The lead actress and actor had powerful voices and we are thrilled that the orchestra is live behind stage!! And the volunteer staff greeting us at the door are wonderful. For a small town theatre, they are first rate. We will support them next year for sure.
