Enjoyed our visit. So much to see. We spent over 2 hours and still didn't see it all. A great place to hunt for treasures.
You can see a little bit of everything here....at least that is the way it appears. It is a good browse destination or a place to look for that certain piece of history you cannot find at modern stores.
Spent five hours going through the entire shop. Oh my goodness, we thought three hours would do it. Could have spent two days if we had looked at every little nook and cranny. The cafe food was great, my friend had the chef salad, it was huge, I had the Reuben, both were a great value.
We arrived Sunday at about 5 minutes until 1:00 (opening time). The parking lot was packed and there was a line waiting to get in the door. Huh? It is a very large antique shop, organized yet so large and packed full that it was too stimulating...about a 1/3 of the way through this gargantuan building I was done...but then the cafe popped into view! Nice touch...homecookin' and a rest stop. I got some energy back to muddle through the rest of the mall; I picked up two items totaling 15 bucks...what? This never happens in an antique shop...my husband was quite fearful when he saw the size of this building and I took my heavy duty wallet; but...it was way over the top for me...if the building was perhaps half the size I would have probably found and purchased at my normal rate. It is fun, it is redundant, the staff are everywhere for your convenience and the cafe' made it all the worthwhile! Definitely stop if you are in the area!!!!
We were there around three hours and didn't get done if you love looking at or buying. Antiques you well love this something for everyone.
This was my first trip to the Staunton, VA area and I was looking for something to do after work. This place is amazing. You can spend hours looking at all the booths and it literally has something for everyone from folk art to old maps to military to books galore to jewelry... I could go on and on. I spent at least an hour in the book section looking through all the old books. They have a deli inside if you get hungry or thirsty and the chicken salad was awesome and they have really good iced tea. I would definitely visit here again. My kids loved all the loot I brought home because they literally had something for everyone's interest.
Plan a few hours and cafe time. You don't want to be in a hurry as there's a lot to see. Accessible and clean, well managed and fun. Antiques and crafts in great variety, staff eager to assist and occasional dealers present. A short but pleasent ride from Massanutten.
I am not an avid antique or glass collector; I just have a few collectibles on which I focus. However, anyone who enjoys antiques, vintage clothing, primitives, collectibles, repurposed art forms and yard art will enjoy walking these aisles. There is something for everyone! In addition to being absolutely huge, the display of items is well done, there is nostalgic music playing, and everything is clean and well laid out. Even though not all vendors are personally present at each booth, neighboring vendors do seem to look out for one another's customers and the front desk staff will try to contact a vendor should you have questions. On the day we visited, many of the booths were having seasonal discounts (clearing the way for new merchandise, I assume). The items we purchased were clearly marked at the discounted price, so we had no problem with checkout as a previous reviewer noted. We had plenty of time to spend and it took us about 4 hours to leisurely wander; plus we ate lunch at the small café inside. The food there was very good - homemade, not microwaved stuff. It was a nice break between shopping spurts.Note that this is NOT a flea market, but an antiques/collectibles mall so prices will reflect that. The several items we purchased -- while not "bargains" -- were fairly priced. All in all, we loved our time there. And the Shenandoah Valley area is a beautiful place to spend time.
Dealers/front check out have different discounts! Fantastic place, will go again. OVER THE TOP kind on the mall and especially checking out! Will do again! Biggest and nicest people anywhere! Yes, read tags before checking out! Great experience all around!
Great selection and reasonable prices. The people who work there are knowledgeable and pleasantly helpful. Will go back when heading up I-81 again.
If you're the type of person who loves to stroll down countless aisles and look at what seems like endless booths of antiques and merchandise for hours, then this is the place for you. The mall is well kept, clean and most comfortable. It's a great place to spend a minimum of two hours if you want to quickly visit every booth in the building. The place is much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside. You could easily spend 2 - 4 hours browsing all that the eye beholds.I very much enjoyed my shopping experience, speaking and talking with some of the vendors who were at their booths on this particular day and trying to take in all that there is to see. The vendors present were all most helpful and willing to help me find what it was I may have been looking for. There were very handy carts/baskets on wheels available for customers to push through the mall in which to collect all their special finds, which is not always the case in many of the mall-like antique stores I have visited.Unfortunately, my shopping experience was soured by the treatment received from the counter help at check out on this particular day. I had picked up a couple of small items from a vendor in the mall who told me the front register would handle my transaction with a 20% discount when I checked out. Well, because the little tag on the item said "Firm" this was not the case as their practice is to ring up these items at full price. However, I did not discover this until after the clerk handed me my receipt and at which time I looked it over to be sure all the discounts on the many items I had purchased rang up to be what I remembered them being. I noticed that the two items purchased with "Firm" were not discounted on my receipt, so I shared this information with the clerk. Since the vendor could not be reached, they said there was nothing they could do about it, so I decided I would simply not purchase the items since my story could not be verified because I was not willing to spend the money on something that was not priced at what was told to me. However, the clerk refused to correct my transaction and told me I had purchased the merchandise and that she would not reimburse my credit card for the amount wrongly charged.I was very disappointed and saddened by the poor customer service and her lack of trying to fully understand what had transpired. Because there is not a digital readout for the customer to see as each item is being rung up, there is NO WAY you can see what you are being charged until after you see your receipt. However, at that point it is too late, they will not refund, correct the error or make corrections. It is imperative that you ask them to tell you what every item is costing you as they are being rung up into the register because of their poor business practice. If you don't, then you could end up like me....paying way more for an item than it is worth. If you miss read a price on a tag or where quoted something different from a vendor, it's imperative that you ask the cashier to tell you exactly what she is ringing up in the register; otherwise, you will not be able to correct the transaction once she has completed the sale. I have NEVER heard of such a practice in all my fifty plus years of doing business. This is a very poor way to transact business as the consumer as no recourse and no way to know what they are being charged until after they have been charged. I immediately looked at my receipt when she handed it to me and never left the register or the store but immediately pointed out the problem once I discovered that there was a problem. But......I got the "tough luck" attitude and a rude shun from the cashier after a few minutes of trying to resolve the issue. I share my story with you because I would hate for you to have the same bad experience as I did. I shop in these types of locations all the time as I travel and have never had such an issue as I did with this particular store. I even used to be an antiques dealer, so I fully understand how things are supposed to work. I have rated this establishment a 4 out of 5 because of how well the facility is kept and in respect for the vendors who work so hard to sell their merchandise by having well stocked and interesting booths for shoppers to peruse. If I were rating this establishment based on the poor treatment and uncaring interaction I received at the check out, then I would most definitely rate this establishment with a negative number as this kind of treatment is highly distasteful and unfair.Perhaps if nothing else comes from this bad experience, hopefully the management will review this situation with a clear head and a more productive attitude to conclude a better resolve that will only benefit their store, their vendors and their customers. I would recommend that the management install digital displays so their customers can easily see what they are being charged as the merchandise is being rung up. This is very common practice in today's digital age of electronics and the only fair way to transact business if you make correcting a transaction this difficult for your patrons. Enjoy your shopping experience, but beware of the check out procedure!!!!!!
Quite an experience ! A huge indoor flea market. What can you say ... will take the best part of a day just to browse the place. Couldn't guess the number of vendors who have space there. Stop there when you're in the Staunton/Verona area and have time available.
Much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Right off I-81 plenty of parking. Very friendly staff. Many, many well organized booths with well displayed items...absolutely anything and everything you can think of. Our first visit was overwhelming and three hours was not enough time to look at everything. Able to see more on our second visit because we were over the shock of the massive size of the store and variety of items. Impressed by the cleanliness of the store and can't figure out how there is no dust! Small cafe in the center of the store, and large clean restrooms. I do wish there were shopping carts, had to carry items to the front of the store several times, too much to carry around, especially larger items.
Overpoweringly large and complete with tremendous variety of items for sale. Extremely large facility, largest of its type I have ever been in.
I would be hard pressed to think of something you could not find here...the only problem is that it will take some looking. Lots of stuff to see and they seem like they are getting ready to open up even more area to showcase things. We have found gifts, things for our home, and even some things that we used for a new business. Don't think that stopping here will be a quick...allow yourself plenty of time to look.
