The concert we saw was awesome and the historic aspect of the Oil Palace was really neat. We also had great seats. However, the people at the concession stands are not there to make sales. They were unGodly slow. Intermission was 30 minutes long. I was the 11th person in line and in 30 minutes, they helped 6 people!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone was just ordering bottles of water and drinks. The girl on our register would stand and hold the cup while it filled instead of letting it hold the lever by itself. She was also taking people out of the other line and not the one she was supposed to be working. Instead of asking the next customer what they wanted, she would sing and dance in between each customer. It was maddening. When intermission ended, the 150+ people in line behind me left. They lost soooo much money due to these clueless workers.

Been here a few times as it's the only place in town capable of hosting large events. I only go if I have to- such as kids' competitions, events, etc. The place stinks, it dirty, dark, just a very nasty feel. The parking lot looks like it's been bombed a time or two (and they charge to park there). Hopefully this town will build a decent convention center area that can host such events. I avoid going here if at all possible.

My daughter and I went to the Oil Palace to see Toby Mac. Although the concert was good I have several complaints about the venue. We were stuck in concert traffic for over an hour for a drive that would take 10 minutes on a normal day. They had one entrance for 7,000 people and charged $10 to park. When they showed me a place to park in a questionable area they told me that "at least you are not parking on the highway." When picking up my tickets at the will call window I overheard a conversation with one of the employees and the fire marshal. They apparently oversold the performance and were breaking fire codes. We walked in to a mob of people to sit in our seats. We missed both opening acts. My daughter argued that the name could not be "palace" because it was more like an outdated livestock arena. I was relieved that my daughter wanted to leave a few minutes early so we would not have to fight the traffic leaving that we had going in. Luckily the crowd was well behaved and there were no major problems.
