If you want to experience Ansazi Cliff Dwelling without crowds, without guides and without fences - this is the place! A little harder to get to as the road is not signed and you need to carefully follow the itinerary through dirt roads (still passable for normal cars) and then find your way how to climb up the huge alcove. Needs a little physical fitness to actually reach the ruins (short, steep uphill climb), but it's just spectacular. Rock alcove is wide and gives great views of San Juan river. You can walk outside and inside the ruins - of course being careful and trying to not touch them too much or leave an traces. Beautiful and impressive place to visit.
