oneonta country club

Oneonta CC is one of those once upon a time gem in central NY and still serves this college community nicely with well run tourneys. ONCE it was a very exclusive country club and now seems to be serving as a semi-private layout. Course has nice greens and some lengthy holes. Nice clubhouse with putting green and a shortish driving range for irons only Worth a Round or Two each and every year. PRO SHOP PERSONNEL are very cordial.

The Oneonta Golf and CC had served the college town as a private golf club for years but now entertains others who are interested in playing the 18 hole, par 72 layout on occasion. The course is one of the nicer ones in the area and the cost of greens fee and cart is reasonable. The greens are good but the sand traps need better maintenance. The course has a place to eat and a bar area when one completes their round as well. Complete with driving range and a putting green. Signature hole is #17, a par 5 with water to the right throughout the playing of the entire hole....slicers beware!

The first time I ordered a salad, figuring the salad would be large, since it was on the same list as sandwiches and other entrees. However, it was tiny and I would have starved if my friend had notshared her pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries with me. The second time was not much better, and I can't for the life of me even remember what I had, but I do remember that I decided to NOT go here for lunch anymore. I made that decision BEFORE the waitress took my credit card and kept it for a good ten minutes. That always makes me a bit nervous...........
