Went there on a date. We sat outside drank a bottle of wine and watching the sunset. Great atmosphere and view.
This winery is very close to my home, and is actually where we had our wedding in spring of 2014 (before they had finished the bridal suite area). It is family owned, and any time we've dropped in, service has been welcoming and friendly. The tasting room is full of windows, and they've recently added on to the back. The patio area is fantastic. It's covered with nice country views. There really isn't much of a vineyard there. Just a few rows of grapes. I've had wine tastings here several times, and have a couple favorites, depending in my mood. Their blackberry wine is delicious if you like sweet wine. I was shocked at how good their mint julip wine was, because I honestly don't normally like mint julips. My go-to is their Riesling. Their cheese and cracker tray was really good. I saw older reviews stating they got slices if cheese, but ours have always been cheese spreads. The are all from local dairies and were all yummy. MillaNova is a great little place to hang out with friends and enjoy some wine. They have a variety of events/bands that I've heard great things about. We actually had our wedding and reception out on the pavilion area (easily accommodated 100 guests), and it was a lot of fun. They are very family friendly on weekend afternoons if no other event is booked, and you could easily enjoy a glass of wine on the pavilion on an afternoon while your children played in or explored the wide open field surrounding the area. The last few times I've dropped by, there have been weddings going on, and that does limit where you can sit to the bar area. It is not going to be the kind of winery where you get a tour or anything like that.
We were looking for a relaxing day at a vineyard with the nostalgic views and vineyards to walk through, coupled with great wine. While the wine was impressive (and I am a bit of a wine connoisseur), the environment wasn't. The staff was friendly, however we had to use the same glass for all of the red wines we tasted. Also, we ordered a cheese tray for $10 that had the equivalent of ritz crackers, the slices of American cheese that come in the plastic wrap that you put on a child's turkey sandwich for their school lunch (Kraft singles), and one other cheese that was pretty good. Overall the place was underwhelming and not what we expected. A bit modern and not so "winery" feeling, though it may be because the establishment is only 5 years old. The vineyard is about 4 rows of grapes that may be 30 yards long. Not much of a vineyard. Again, the wines were very good, though the experience was a disappointment.
I'm not a winery fan but it was a nice establishment. We visited for the halloween event and it was crowded. They seem to do a booming business and everyone speaks highly of their wine. I didn't care for it but I'm more a soft drink kind of person. I went for the costume contest and live music which was great.
Attended an outdoor concert at the winery this past weekend. $5.00 cover charge. We sat outside on the pavillion. Beer and wine are available for purchase. The band was incredible. The weather was fall perfect. We loved the view, the wine was excellent, the outside fire pit was beautiful and mesmerizing. It was a perfect evening!
Service with a smile. They have treated me like a long lost friend every time I have been there. Really when you go there your family. They have the best wines in a 100 miles. Chases red. To die for.i won't spoil it for you..
When you walk in the first thing you see is the tasting room and it is really pretty. The grounds were really great for the wedding. Plenty of pretty scenery - tall grasses, rolling hills, some vineyards but there were also spaces that just looked really junky in the back - particularly around the bridal suite. This definitely needed some refinement. Down the hall toward the bridal suite is where I felt most of the issues were - water was coming through the floor and making it hazardous for any of us to walk to the suite. Several if the bridesmaids slipped and fell or almost fell and there was little to nothing done about it until a man who I assume was the owner came in and really took charge of making sure the walk way was safe for us. Mind you there were two other people working that could have helped with the water issue that acted like it wasn't their problem. Once the wedding started and the bar opened - I heard several complaints about a female bartender being down right rude to several of the guests. Milla nova work on your employees courteous conduct. It is probably driving far more business away from you than you may realize. You have a beautiful place but spotty customer service.
The food was really good, The wine is GREAT !!!!. The service was very good. The only complaint I had was the band that was playing was good BUT they were way, way, too LOUD!!!! for the size area they were playing in. We had to leave our table and go to the outer room, and even then it was still so loud you could't have a conversation without screaming. Other than that, I will definitely go back through out the year.
We got married there and have been there many times. Cannot recommend it highly enough! Beautiful place with great wine. Nice drive out there as well, very scenic. Check them out, you will not be disappointed.
My boyfriend and I went to Milla Nova last weekend for a wine tasting. This space was beautiful, but our wine tasting experience was less than ideal. We each received four complementary tastings, which was great. However, the woman serving us started out by saying that she had just put lotion on her hands, so she was sorry for the greasy marks she was leaving on the glasses. That didn't bother me as much as the overwhelming smell of lotion and perfume that made it impossible for me to experience the nose of any of the wines she poured for us. Then, while we were drinking and taking notes, she started spraying windex on the nearby tables and the other side of the counter, once again impeding the tasting experience. All my wines tasted like lotion and cleaning solution! Finally, they had the TV blasting some action movie, to the point that we couldn't hear one another. The wines were okay, but the experience was one I'm not likely to repeat.
We went to Millanova on a Friday early afternoon and were very disappointed; both in the wine and the incredibly rude service. Tastings are free for 4 wines from the white/blush side of the selection sheet, $2 per tasting after that. From the red side of the selection sheet, tastings are $4 for 5 reds... or $2 each. They have 2 dessert wines, tastings are $2 each. Their whites and blush wines were cloyingly sweet. The service was horrible. There were 4 people tasting (2 couples) and 2 people working behind the counter. It seemed we were interrupting their busy day and they really had no time at all to talk to the customer. We gave the server a list of the wines we wanted to taste, she poured as quickly as she could and as quickly as we could empty the glass. She wasn't interested in conversation of any kind; even to talk about the wine or the winery. So, in summary: rude, perfunctory 'service', an ambiance of winery more interested in bringing in money than satisfying customers, and mediocre (at best) wines.
This was truly a great experience. Family owned and operated winery, very warm, inviting, relaxing atmosphere. Great wine at great prices. Also had some food to go with the wine. I will go back often.
We celebrated a birthday this past SAT at Milla Nova. The entire group had a wonderful experience and throughly enjoyed the many wines. The owners make you feel extremely welcome. The location is very inviting. The wines were delicious! We made plans for a girls night at Milla Nova!
