This place is nearly impossible to describe... the natural beauty surrounds structures, buildings, a gazebo and even an amphitheater all co-existing in beautiful harmony. For photographers, it's a must see in late March, early April when the azaleas explode in fantastic colors and surround the reflecting pond with the fountain... it's amazing. The peacocks that wander freely on the grounds are the perfect compliment. Hemingbough also has an amazing Bed and Breakfast with rooms furnished in Antebellum period pieces. You have to experience Hemingbough for yourself to truly appreciate it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Beautiful gardens and grounds unlike any attraction in LA. You would think you're somewhere in the middle of Tennessee.

This place is amazing, a natural theater setting for outdoor theatrics, seetings for weddings and reception facilities. Unique and romantic atmosphere.

Hemingbough is a place to get away from the hectic life of city living. Quiet, and serene over looking the lake while walking the grounds. Concerts are scheduled there at different times of the year, as well as special occasions ( wedding receptions, birthday parties, etc. ) Places to rent for the week, or weekend available. Great place to go just to get away and meditate by the water, with nothing but the sounds of nature.

Very secluded and quiet. Wonderful for a weekend getaway. The rooms were very nice and we really enjoyed our stay.

After initial signage off main road, buildings were not labeled and signage was minimal. After passing several buildings, there begin to be signage for Guest House. No map or directions to room sent in advance so we kept stopping at unmanned buildings until we found others in our wedding party. In the room there was no reference for who to call if anything was needed (no phone in room which was fine, since we had our cells)Bed frame squeaked loudly, mattress was oldNot enough electrical outlets in roomNot enough trash cans (1 by desk, none by vanity or commode.) No iron or ironing board and I brought a cotton dress. No pen or pencil, paper. Coffeepot was on desk far from water and trash. Any spillage was on wood, instead of countertop. Not enough coffee condiments for 4 cups of coffee allotted. No overhead lighting in room nor sidelights at vanity mirror.Only one luggage rack for a room for two. Bugs in bathroom around tub and in corners. Commode was not cleaned under rim and an unsightly view from the tub.No noise-proofing. Every word said in the entry, was audible in the room. Noise on the porch outside was not even muffled. A child turned our doorknob and it came unlocked and allowed entry - no security chain or reinforcement. There were no directions in the room about where to go for breakfast and no one available to ask. The positives:Furniture was adequate, except for the squeaky bed. Away from the city.Bedside tables were lovely, as were drapes and canopy.Great WiFi reception. Air conditioning worked well. Grounds were lovely for the wedding. If this is what you are looking for, it's the perfect setting.

this is the most poeaceful place to be. the nicest people too. the have weddings and concerts and theatre and orchestras. there is a flock of peacocks that roam the place. i found this place through word of mouth and i am here on work, i work the night shift and its so quite that there is no disturbances. every morning when i get in around 6:30 i do , what i call "my walk", i walk all the the grounds, which includes a several views of the lake, the concert hall, the guest house, the gardens pond and it is all breath taking. i feel so at home here that when i did go home one weekend, upon my return i was at ease like it really was my place.the staff are great and the grounds people keep the place up so nice. the prices here is more than reasonable.i have the cottage for less than 300.00 a week.full kitchen included.its home away from home

I was recently married at Hemingbough. I loved it! The guest room my husband I were given was beautiful. Had everything we needed right there. Microwave,tv,refrigerator, towels, ect. The staff were wonderul before and after the wedding. You asked for something they got it done. We got married outside in the Amphitheater, absolutely beautiful. Enough chairs for everyone to sit. Also the food was AMAZING! I wish I could relive the whole experience just for the food! haha. The only thing I was kind of disappointed with was the room that my bridesmaids and I got ready in. It was very small and cramped. Wish we would have had a little more room to get around. With the videographer, photographer, make-up artist and hair stylist all in this one room. It was difficult to get around. But...we made it work. :) Also the road. Its HORRIBLE. I couldn't drive more than 5mph without feeling I was going to lose a tire. Very upest about that. The landscape, buildings and scenery are absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The road kind of takes away from that beauty. Overall I was very pleased with Hemingbough and would recommend it to anyone. :D

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Guesthouse on this beautiful property. The room was beautiful-spotless and well appointed. The high ceilings, gorgeous draperies and beautiful furnishings made me feel like I was in a century-old Plantation Home. Many thanks to the management for a lovely stay! We will definitely be back!!!!!

I attended a writer's conference at Hemmingbough. This was a great facility and setting for a conference. My only complaint was not enough restrooms for the ladies.

The Hemingbough is the best place that anyone could ever visit. I just recently had my wedding reception there in June. All I can say is this was the best experience that I have ever had. The staff was excellent amd will definitely ensure that all of your needs are taken care of. Everything that anyone could ever want is right there at The Hemingbough. The beautiful scenery is breath taking and welcomes you as soon as you enter the gates. The food was to die for and the guest room that was provided to us was perfect.
