Many, no, most golf club restaurants are not synonymous with fine dining but we were surprised! First...they got the menu right as I wanted everything on it. The citrus shrimp appetizer was a winner with a red cabbage coleslaw that had me licking the plate. For the main, a coconut chicken wrap with an inscrutable yummy sauce sold me on this restaurant. We'll be back to try it out for dinner. Service was great on the patio and the views to the 9th green made for good entertainment. We'll be back!
If you are looking for a genuinely terrific, quiet, high-end desert golf experience, this is nirvana! And, you could get married at the 19th hole-- at sunset!
We played the south course which is pretty wide open. Tee boxes and fairways were in great condition but greens were tough to read and a little bumpy. We didn't get to play the north couse (due to rain if you can believe it) but did drive around the first nine holes which were, in short, beautiful. Quite frankly some of the best I have ever seen! I can't wait to go back and try the course.
Stayed at Ritz-Carlton and was told I would have opportunity to play the 36 at Gallery during my stay. I'm glad I took advantage. Both courses are outstanding desert lay-outs and conditions were perfect. Especially considering this was just after over seeding period for most AZ courses. Staff was especially friendly, especially the starter Eddie! Thanks for a wonderful golf experience.
The courses at Gallery were the most beautiful we played during our vacation and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating! Golf at its finest!
You won't be disappointed with your visit to the Gallery. The South course is quite pleasant, and the North course is arguably second best in all of Tucson. Stay at the golf villas right next to the clubhouse to make your stay even better. A couple of small things (side of onion rings is 4 rings?/ better attention from golf cart staff) keep this from a five star experience, but otherwise definitely worth the trip!
Great upscale community course managed by Troon North. Conditions were very good and staff were friendly. reasonably challenging.
Great course and I need a higher handicap if I'm going to play with the foursome from the Club. The course was in good shape not great but the layout is very interesting and a challenge for most all of our foursome.
The Gallery features two fo the best courses in the Southwest. The North Course winds through beautiful canyons in the Tortilita Mountains northwest of Tucson. The South Course has relatively wide fairways and large, undulating greens and was the venue for the Accenture Match Play World Championship for its first two years in the Tucson area. The courses are always in beautiful condition and there are gorgeous views from both courses as well as from the fitness center and driving range. The restaurant serves very good food in the grill as well as the beautiful restaurant area. There is a large outside patio area that overlooks the North Course that is a wonderful place to eat and get a post round drink. The staff is very friendly and professional as one would expect from a Troon managed facility. The green fees for unaccompanied guests are a little pricey but are in line with the world class experience.
The vistas at The Gallery were not as exhilarating as some other courses in north Tucson but we still recommend the course. Pricey but we felt satisfied. On each hole, you generally do not see other holes. So you get a very secluded feel. Greens fantastic, condition of the course was superb. One hole, a par 3, was confusing. I believe they alternate greens. We hit to the wrong green first, then had to go back and play the other green. We always felt somewhat like mildly-unwelcomed guests however. Just not greatly welcoming to guests. Beautiful surroundings, great pro shop. We did not feel welcome enough to venture into the clubhouse though. The conditioning of this course is top notch though.
On a recent trip to Scottsdale, my wife and I made a "day trip" down to Marana (about 25 minutes north of Tucson) to the Gallery Golf Club. This is a private, non-equity club that does have limited daily play options. It is managed by Troon Golf, so, if you are a Troon member, you really want to check this place out. If you are not a Troon member, but do belong to a club, you might have your head pro call and see if he/she can get you on. If you are not a member, you can contact the club directly about their daily play tee times. There are two courses at the Gallery - the South course and the North course. We played the South course, which, in the past has been home to the Accenture Match Play Championships. It is a fantastic course with ample fairways and challenges around the greens. From the tips (which is WAY beyond my game, it's about 7,300 yards. To have the best experience, choose the tees that best fit your game and your distance. The course was in absolutely perfect condition, and the greens, running about 10.5, were true. If you missed a putt, you could not blame it on the greens. The pro shop and staff were very accommodating, something we have grown to expect at a Troon course. This is a course that you will not only enjoy, but will remember for a long time. Don't forget to bring your camera - lots of wonderful scenery. The Gallery Golf Club is in the Dove Mountain area about 1 hr 40 minutes south of Scottsdale (about 25 minutes from Tucson), so it's a full-day trip from Scottsdale (but well worth it). If you're staying in Tucson, this place is an absolute MUST! We'll definitely be gack.
My wife and I enjoyed this golf course, we played the South course and it was beautiful and fun to play, the pace of play was good, greens and fairways were in good condition for this time of the year. The club house is really nice and a very quiet location.this is a must play, if you can get a tee times on this private golf course. The first 2 years of the Accenture WGC took place on the South course before moving to the Dove Mountain. The driving range facilities are excellent, wide with a beautiful view.
This is one of the most wounderfull place to play golf as you will find wide fairways and huge greens. The price is high both it worth it.
Took visitors from out of state for a great lunch. Good service and good food. The atmosphere and decor are both wonderful.
Two courses, each unique and challenging. North is very scenic and south has great greens. The course conditions were great, pro shop was adequate and staff was friendly.
